Does Tinnitus can cure ?

Tinnitus is a very nagging and irritating ear condition. It is a “ringing” noise that seems to originate from one or both of your ears or the head. Tinnitus is not a disease really but a condition or ear disorder that commonly affects a lot of people in the world.

Tinnitus is caused by a number of things like ear infections, foreign objects in the ear, exposure to loud noise of allergies. Other causes are head trauma, brain disorders or overdose of cytotoxic drugs like aspirin.

In severe cases, tinnitus can be so loud that it is all the person hears. It can be mild during the day and very loud at night causing sleeplessness. It is therefore important to seek medical attention as soon as possible so that you can find cure for tinnitus.

Cure for tinnitus involves taking sound therapy. This therapy involves playing of neutral repetitive sound that distracts you from the sound of tinnitus. Since tinnitus is strong in a sound environment, the repetitive sound will shift your mind towards it. You can also use a gadget that resembles a hearing aid known as ear-level generator that is placed on your ear and helps in hearing loss.

Try and avoid possible irritants that may worsen tinnitus. Such triggers include nicotine, caffeine and alcohol which constrict blood vessels and in turn increase blood flow in the inner ear making tinnitus more severe.

TRT (Tinnitus Retraining Therapy) involves a combination of sound therapy and counseling that helps you cope with the condition. This therapy targets to help u switch off that tinnitus sound making it less significant. This therapy trains your brain to focus on other sound and suppressing the tinnitus sound. This process is not as habituation. There are many specialists who can help you through this therapy.

You can also take the mantle upon yourself and train yourself how to reduce the effects of tinnitus. Being you own specialist can be very effective since you can come up alternative remedies to this problems. Stress which is a major facilitator of tinnitus can be controlled through relaxation. A relaxed mind is a stress free mind, identify ways you can relax your mind regularly.

You can take up yoga classes that help you relax or choose to listen to music. Soft soulful music can easily take your mind away to a cool calm place thus reducing the effects of tinnitus. You can also join support groups where you will be able to share and meet up with people going through the same problems as you. Support groups offer a good platform to learn how to cope with the condition and it is through this that you will get ideas which will help you in managing the tinnitus condition.

There is no specific medication that can be prescribed as a cure for tinnitus. However, since tinnitus will cause anxiety and depression, you can be prescribed antidepressants.

Although there is no cure for tinnitus, you can learn to cope with it and eventually switch your mind out of the irritating noise.
